It was a good evening for Leanan. The young woman was headed to a concert of sorts, and she was enthusiastic. Beside her was her best friend Zach, who was also going willingly! Ok, she'd dragged him along via blackmail, but still! Her car sped along the highway as the clouds grew dark, spooky, and ominous.
"Gee, these clouds sure are spooky." Zach said, as they drove along a dark forested area. "I mean, it's almost like it could start raining." he added without thinking. Sure enough, the heavens opened and it rained as if Noah's Flood were going to start all over again. Soon, Leanan could no longer see where she was going even with both headlights on and windshield wipers on full blast. Eventually, she had to make an admission to Zach.
"Zach, we're lost." she hesitantly admitted. Zach simply stared at her as if she had announced the end of the world.
"What." he said, not even bothering to hide his growing annoyance. Leanan was worried that he'd react badly. Instead, he smiled.
"It's all right: I did want an adventure. Besides, at least we have umbrellas and our car won't die on us, right?" Zach replied. Suddenly, the car began sputtering as it began to smoke. Leanan cried out as she struggled to find a place to park, when suddenly they saw a town with all the lights on.
"Is that a town?" Leanan asked optimistically, as the car was running on fumes by that point. Zach, for his part, was trying to be suspicious, mostly because he was tired.
"Could've sworn there wasn't a town within fifty miles." Zach said, as the car ground to a halt beside the inn. Actually, inn was an understatement: the thing was clearly eleven stories high, and they could see the helicopter lights on top. As the two took their backpacks inside, they were greeted by a woman at the desk. She was tall and thin, and had green hair. She looked friendly enough, however, that both of them really didn't care.
"Hello, and welcome tonight! My name is Alexis, and welcome to the Convert Inn! How may I assist you today?" she asks, a bit too cheery considering the pouring rain.
"One room please: two queen sized beds." Zach said. She looked at her computer and then looked up at us.
"You're in luck, we've still got a room available tonight! Just give your card a swipe here and you'll be off to room 218!" she said. Leanan and Zach looked at each other, and then Leanan hesitantly handed the clerk her card. The clerk swiped it and the transaction went through.
"Thank you for choosing Convert Inn! Here's your room key, you'll be staying on the second floor tonight." she said, handing them each a room card. Zach and Leanan thanked her and went upstairs, each of them claiming one of the beds. As Leanan showered, Zach took the time to change out of his wet clothes and throw them into the provided laundry hamper. When she finished, Zach went in and showered. As he did, Leanan had some tea provided by the staff, and climbed into her bed. When Zach came out, he climbed into his own bed.
"Sorry that we got lost." Leanan said to Zach. Zach merely smiled and hugged her tightly, as the fans cooled off the room.
"It's all good." he said. "I'm glad I came." The two of them hugged, not hearing the sounds of feet pattering to other rooms. Eventually, Zach broke off the hug and went to his separate bed. The two slept deeply that night, unaware of the changes coming in the morning...
That next morning, Leanan woke up late. She looked around, but Zach had left already and she couldn't see him.
"Zach?" she asked, putting on some shoes and clothes, and looking outside. He wasn't in the hall, so she went downstairs and looked for him. As she did, she bumped into something behind her. She yelped and turned around to see Alexis.
"Alexis, have you seen Zach?" Leanan asked. Alexis grinned and pointed towards the kitchen. As Leanan looked, she felt something tap her head, and found herself in a deep trance. Alexis, now a Gardevoir, floated in front of Leanan while laughing like a loon.
"FOOLED YOU! Now what species are you, Leanan?" Alexis asked.
"Human." Leanan said: after all, that was correct, right?
Alexis shook her head. "Nope, you are a Male Meowstic named Evan." Leanan then underwent a curious transformation: first, her ears elongated and moved to the top of his head, growing longer as the tops folded down and covered the insides of his ears. Next, her eyes grew larger as his nose shrank down to become part of a feline muzzle, his teeth becoming pointy in his mouth as it became more omnivorous. She grew a poofy, curly set of tails, as she shrank and her gender inverted. Blue and white fur coated his body as his hands and feet shrunk into his shorter legs and arms.
Evan nodded. "I am Evan the Meowstic." Alexis looked pleased.
"Good. You are a worker at the Convert Inn. I am your Boss, Alexis. Tess Garibaldi the Lucario and I are your saviors from a lifetime of slavery under humans. For that reason, you desire revenge against them, but only to a moderate extent: changing and brainwashing them into being Pokemon. You also are good at performing maintenance to hotels and their rooms, which you do to fool the humans into a false sense of security and for any Pokemon visitors."
Evan nodded, as gratitude swelled in his being. Following it closely was a new duty to transform all the humans into Pokemon.
"Good: now wake up." she commanded. With that, Evan suddenly awoke, and anxiously looked at his boss.
"Now Evan, when all the other mons wake up, you will make the beds and teleport the sheets to the laundry room." Alexis said with authority. Evan happily saluted.
"Yes ma'am!" he shouted, and went up to go check if they were up. As he did, he found himself looking into Room 218. For a minute, he thought something about the room was familiar...
But only for a moment. Then he went and cleaned the room.
Could we rp something like this?
Awesome story! You actually gave the Meowstic my name!
What ever happened to Zach?
Sounds awesome. But what happens when they find a human who means to do nothing but help, assist, and be kind to Pokemon?
This IS set in the human world.
